What is Strattera?

Strattera is used to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).

Strattera may be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.

Warnings

Some people have suicidal thoughts while taking Strattera. Stay alert to change your mood or symptoms. Report any new or difficult symptoms to your doctor.

Do not use Strattera if you have been using an MAO inhibitor for the past 14 days, such as isocarboxazid, linezolid, methylene blue injection, phenelzine, rasagiline, selegiline, or tranylcypromine.

Strattera may cause a new or worse mental illness (thoughts or behaviors), especially if you have a history of depression, mental illness, or bipolar disorder.

Strattera causes stroke, heart disease, and sudden death in people with high blood pressure, heart disease, or heart disease.

Before taking this medicine

Do not use Strattera if you have been using an MAO inhibitor for the past 14 days. Dangerous drug interactions are possible. MAO inhibitors include isocarboxazid, linezolid, methylene blue injection, phenelzine, rasagiline, selegiline, tranylcypromine, and others.¶

You should not use Strattera if you are sick with it, or if you have:

• severe cardiovascular problems;
• narrow-angle glaucoma; or
• pheochromocytoma (adrenal gland tumour).

Strattera causes stroke, heart disease, and sudden death in some people. Tell your doctor if you have:

• heart problems or congenital heart disease;
• high blood pressure; or
• family history of heart disease or sudden death.

Tell your doctor if you have:

• depression, mental illness, mental disorders, mental disorders;
• suicidal thoughts or actions;
• low blood pressure; or
• liver disease.

Some people have suicidal thoughts while taking Strattera. Your doctor will need to check your progress on regular visits. Your family or other caregivers should also be aware of changes in your mood or symptoms.

Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant.

If you are pregnant, your name may be added to the pregnancy register to track the effects of Strattera on the baby.

It may not be safe to breastfeed while using this medicine. Ask your doctor about any risks.

Strattera is not approved for use by anyone under 6 years of age.

How should I take Strattera?

Follow all directions on your medicine label and read all medication instructions or instructions sheets. Your doctor may change your dose from time to time. Use the medicine as prescribed.

Take the medicine at the same time each day, with a full glass of water.

Strattera is usually taken once a day in the morning or twice a day in the morning and afternoon. Follow your doctor’s instructions.

You can take Strattera with or without food.

Swallow the entire capsule and do not crush, chew, break or open it. Tell your doctor if you have trouble swallowing pills.

Your doctor will need to check your progress regularly. Your blood pressure, heart rate, blood pressure, height and weight may need to be checked regularly.

Store at room temperature away from moisture and heat.

What happens if I miss a dose?

Take the medicine as soon as you can, but skip the missed dose when it is almost time for your next dose. Do not take two doses at the same time.

Get emergency medical help or call the Poison Help line at 1-800-222-1222.

Symptoms of a drug overdose may include drowsiness, dizziness, stomach problems, tremors, or unusual behaviour.

What should I avoid while taking Strattera?

Avoid using or handling an open or broken capsule. If powder from the inside of the capsule gets into your eyes, wash with water immediately and call your doctor.

Avoid driving or dangerous activity until you know how Strattera will affect you. Your reaction may be damaged.

Side effects of Strattera

Get emergency medical help if you have symptoms of allergies: hives; shortness of breath; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.

Report any new or worsening symptoms to your doctor, such as anxiety, panic, difficulty sleeping, or if you feel rushed, irritable, irritable, hostile, aggressive, restless, mentally (physically or physically), depressed, or have thoughts about suicide or self-harm.

Strattera can affect the growth of children. Tell your doctor if your child is not growing at the normal rate while using this medicine.

Call your doctor at once if you have:

• symptoms of heart problems – chest pain, shortness of breath, feeling like you might faint;
• symptoms of psychosis – hallucinations (seeing or hearing unnatural objects), new behavioural problems, anger, hostility, paranoia;
• liver problems – abdominal pain (upper right side), itching, symptoms such as fever, black urine, jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes);
• painful or difficult urination; or
• suspension is painful or lasts more than 4 hours (this is a rare result).

Common side effects may include:

• nausea, vomiting, upset stomach, constipation;
• dry mouth, loss of appetite;
• mood swings, feeling tired;
• dizziness;
• urinary problems; or
• powerlessness, the problem of pride.
