Recommended Adult Dosing

Dosage forms:  INJ (KwikPen 70%/30% pen): 100 units per mL; INJ (70%/30% vial): 100 units per mL

Diabetes mellitus

Info: usual total daily insulin requirement 0.5-1 units/kg/day (basal + prandial); give 30-45min before meals; dose adjustment may be needed during pregnancy and/or immed. postpartum; onset 0.5h, peak 2-12h, duration 18-24h (intermediate-acting/short-acting insulin)
