 Recommended Adult Dosing

Dosage forms:  TAB: 40 mg, 80 mg

Gout prophylaxis

[40-80 mg PO qd]

Start: 40 mg PO qd, incr. to 80 mg PO qd if serum uric acid >6 mg/dL after 2wk; Info: give w/ gout flare prophylaxis such as NSAID or colchicine during tx initiation; consider prophylactic low-dose aspirin tx in pts w/ cardiovascular dz hx
