Recommended Adult Dosing
Dosage forms: ER TAB: 500 mg, 750 mg, 1000 mg
Hypercholesterolemia
- [1000-2000 mg PO qhs]
- Start: 500 mg PO qhs x4wk, then incr. 500 mg/day q4wk based on effect/tolerance; Max: 2000 mg/day; Info: use start regimen even when switching from other niacin products; aspirin 325 mg 30min before dose may reduce flushing; do not cut/crush/chew tab; give w/ low-fat food
Mixed dyslipidemia
- [1000-2000 mg PO qhs]
