Recommended Adult Dosing

Dosage forms:  CAP: 1 mg, 2 mg, 5 mg

HTN

[6-15 mg/day PO divided bid-tid]

Start: 1 mg PO bid-tid; Max: 20 mg/day; Info: give 1st dose at bedtime

Benign prostatic hypertrophy

[0.5-1 mg PO bid]

Max: 4 mg/day

Nightmares, post-traumatic stress disorder-assoc.

[3-15 mg PO qhs]

Start: 1 mg PO qhs, then incr. by 1-2 mg/day q3-4 days; Max: 15 mg/day

Renal dosing
