Recommended Adult Dosing

Dosage forms:  TAB: 5 mg; SOL: 10 mg per 5 mL

Corticosteroid-responsive conditions

[5-60 mg/day PO divided qd-qid]
Alt: use dose pack of 5 mg tabs; start 30 mg/day, taper by 5 mg/day over 6 days or start 30 mg/day x4 days, taper by 10 mg/day q4days per pkg instructions; Info: dose, frequency varies by condition; give w/ food; taper dose gradually to D/C if high-dose or long-term use

Asthma, acute

Dose: 40-80 mg/day PO divided qd-bid; Info: cont. until peak flow 70% predicted; give w/ food
